The GMC Acadia was introduced in 2006 as a 2007 model full-size SUV. It was introduced as a replacement for three vehicles GMC had removed from their lineup. For the 2011 model year, GMC added a Denali model to the Acadia family. In 2016, the Acadia moved from the full-size SUV class to the mid-size cross-over SUV class with the introduction of the 2017 models. The current model is a member of the second generation of the Acadia family of vehicles.

Exterior
In a crowded market of cross-over SUVs, the Acadia has been designed to stand out from the rest. Sleek, sculpted lines and attention to detail give the Acadia a graceful, luxury appearance. The signature C-shape of the wraparound headlamps complement the stylish front grille. A wraparound rear window and LED taillamps give the rear of the Acadia a bold look that balances the front aesthetic. Chrome accents add an element of style to the vehicle’s exterior design. Available halogen fog lamps add a stylish, yet practical, feature to the front elevation.

For those who enjoy off-road adventures, the Acadia All Terrain provides the capability they need while maintaining stand-out style. The All Terrain features a tone-on-tone color scheme and black chrome. The non-chrome accents are dark as well.

Interior
Like the exterior, the interior of the Acadia has been intentionally designed. The dual purpose of style and comfort is at the forefront of the interior design of the SUV. Up to seven people can experience the comfort of the Acadia. Seating options include available French-stitched seats made of soft-touch elements. Third-row seating is easily accessed utilizing the Smart Slide capabilities of the second row seats. When additional storage is necessary, the 50/50 split third row folds flat to provide space. Active Noise Cancellation helps to block external noises to maintain a quiet atmosphere within the car.

Drivers will find controls within easy reach, and a Driver Information Center that is easily seen. Steering wheel mounted controls allow drivers to adjust things like stereo volume without removing their hands from the wheel. Passengers in the rear seats have access to climate controls for the rear seats, USB ports for charging devices and an available 120-volt power outlet. Some models offer heated seats in the second row. Inside the Acadia, there are multiple storage areas to accommodate the gear that is needed daily. Additionally, both the second and third rows of seating fold to provide flat cargo space for hauling larger items.

The GMC Acadia is a mid-size cross-over SUV that provides comfort for family and friends while still providing versatility for transporting cargo. For more information regarding the GMC Acadia, or to schedule a personal test drive, contact the professionals at Heyward Allen Buick GMC.
